Do you want to enjoy the thrill of RC Jets?
It’s little surprise that RC flying is such a popular hobby: Flying an RC plane or helicopter is a thrill. There’s something fascinating about watching these little machines hover, dip and soar into the sky.
And if flying RC planes and helicopters is fun, there’s little doubt that RC jets pack a powerful thrill of their own.
There’s a reason for this thrill: RC jets are fast. They zip through the sky. Their twists, turns and flips are extremely impressive.
Of course, RC jets are also more expensive than is the typical RC helicopter or airplane. Because of this, you want to do your research before buying an RC jet. Take a look at your own RC flying experience: Do you go out to fields and parks often with your RC aircraft? Or are you an infrequent flier?
The answer will determine whether you’ll want to buy a top-of-the-line RC jet or a more basic version. The basic version will be more affordable and easier to handle. The top-quality RC jet, though, will not only be faster, it will be more maneuverable, perfect for high-speed stunt-flying.
There are three main types of RC jets from which you can choose: pusher, gas turbine and electric ducted fan. Each comes with its own pluses and minuses.
Newcomers might want to start with a pusher RC jet. These jets fly a bit slower than the others. This makes them perfect for someone just starting out with the hobby.
Pusher RC jets are a great way to learn the basics. Just stick to safe ground, such as an empty field or park, and you’ll be able to learn the fundaments of RC flying.
Electric ducted fan RC jets are a good next step. These move faster than do pusher RC jets. These jets provide a good opportunity for more skilled RC hobbyists to develop new flying stunts and to improve their maneuvering skills.
Finally, gas turbine jets are the fastest variety on the market. These toys truly give you the feeling that you are flying.
Just make sure you’re ready to use one of these. Gas turbine RC jets are not cheap. You don’t want to destroy yours – by flying into a tree or wall – on your first flight.
RC jets are a fun way for more advanced RC hobbyists to experience the thrill of simulated flight.
And finding the right RC jet doesn’t have to be a challenge.
It just takes a bit of research, and a close look at your own skill level and passion for RC flying, to find that perfect RC jet.
