Piezoelectrics do not use magnetic force to align as I said in the video. They just look for movement. This video was made to dwell on what we had 35 years ago. This was “New Technology” back then, as RC helicopters became another important part of RC modeling. Here I demonstrate how the old Gyros worked with a motor and flywheel (which drew lots of battery power) and explain how these gyroscopes actually worked then and now. Today’s Piezoelectric chip gyros are not that much different, using the same “feedback” principal. Only today we have simple, no moving parts, light weight, Piezo electric “Movement Sensors” to help. Fun with a RC plane and a video camera! I fitted a new tail just before this flight, and one of the control cables came off just prior to the last crash. You can see it starts spiraling to the right, then nose dives into the ground…Oh well

Successful first flight of this foam model of an F-16 Fighting Falcon. Cool video with the moon in the background. Plane looks pretty realistic in flight. Jet would be sick if i could get some replacement parts i need a new nosecone and before this test flight the “Pitch” vectoring control snapped off almost immediately during a preliminary taxi. I had to tape and disable the thrust vectoring witch bummed me out.
